How do Retail stores protect the merchandise sitting on the outside of the store?

The only merch I ever see sitting out of retail stores is too heavy to hoist, chained to the ground, or monitored with cameras. Other than that, I guess they rely on the honor system, or having enough customers to tattle on each other.

This is a legitimate question. I can assure you I’m not trying to be flippant or smart by asking it. For all vegans, do you feed your pets (mainly cats and dogs) traditional pet food made with meat? I’m mainly curious to receive answers from vegans who choose to be vegan because they think it’s cruel to kill animals. Part two (for those of you who feed your pets regular old dog/cat food): Why is it OK to kill animals for your Pets to eat, but not for you to eat? Don’t you think that the chickens and lambs and ducks and whatever other animals they use to make pet food are treated just as badly as animals that people eat? Please don’t take offense…I’m just curious. Thanks for all replies!

I’m neither a vegan nor a pet owner….

However, I can’t imagine a vegan (for cruelty reasons) owning a pet. Consider that for millenia, these animals have been cross-bred and inbred to strip any and all wild tendency out of them. Then mass reproduced and sold.

Personally, I dosn’t bother me. But someone who is a vegan due to animal ethics issues would be a bit hypocritical if they owned a pet.

I am a total Internet marketing newbie and I feel extremely overwhelmed. I quit my job after I had my son 5 months ago and my husband just got his hours cut back at work, so we need the extra money. I have read in some forums that affiliate marketing can be a great work at home job that I can do part-time and make good money. So, can someone help this newbie out?

I am also a work at home mom, but I have to tell you that affiliate marketing is just not a job. A telemarketer is a job. Internet marketing is a Business and you must work hard at your business to make it successful. A lot of people have the misconception that they can, through up a website, add some affiliate links to it and make some good income.

On the contrary, you have to work hard at promoting your site and getting traffic and sales. This is why it is called marketing. You have to market it and market it some more. I don’t want you to get the wrong idea about affiliate marketing and get discouraged after a month or two by not seeing any income come in (which will most likely happen).

When I first starting affiliate marketing from home 3 years ago, I was putting in about 9-10 hour days to get my sites started, do my research, and market my sites to death. I only started to see regular traffic and money come in after about 3-4 months and even then it was only a couple hundred dollars and I had about 5 sites up.

But, after about a year, I was making over $4500 a month and I was only working about 20 hours a week. In the beginning, you really have to work and then as you get your sites more established, you can set things to autopilot and work much less. Now I have 2 kids and make almost 6 figures a year and work about 20-25 hours a week when my kids are sleeping.

I have about 60 niche websites and I am in the process of making 5 more. The sites that are the oldest are the ones that make the most money, with a few exceptions. You will have sites that no matter what you do may just not see conversions or make you the money that you want no matter how much you put into them. On the other hand, you may have sites that do a lot better than you ever thought they would and you only put in a minimal amount of time on them.

For an Internet marketing newbie like yourself, I recommend that you check out www.mattbacak.com. Even though I have been doing this for 3 years I still subscribe to his Internet Marketing Dirt newsletter and learn new things from it. The Internet is always changing and you must adapt your strategies if you want to really succeed. I wish you all the luck with your endeavor and don’t give up!

I need a Hosting site that will give me templates to customize. I also need to be able to accept credit cards from my customers (some places don’t allow this). I basically need everything a good ecommerce site has. I don’t have much money to start with, so high quality- good priced websites are preffered. Thank you

I want to build a 7.1 surround Home Theatre. I want it to be good quality obviously but i don’t know what company is best to look at. I’m on a budget and i work hard for my money so i am willing to do research if someone could help point me in the right direction. i want it to be hooked up to my ps3 and also im in an apt so it doesn’t have to be super powerful although i would like it to rock since it is a investment. any ideas????? Thanks

For good 7.1 you have to spend a bit more than 300 I would suggest sony I have a Sony hooked up to one of my smaller systems and it works great I think it was $400 thats your best bet for 7.1.If your willing to only have 5.1 I agree with the first answer.

I’m just starting the adoption process. I have found two special needs children that are currently in foster care. To be able to adopt either of them I need to complete a home study. Both boys are toddlers. What types of things can I prepare in my house before the social worker comes to increase the ease of the Home study? Will I need to have a room already completed for a child? Will I need to have the home "child-proofed"? Any tips on the home study process, or on adoption from foster care are much appreciated.

the inspection of the house will be the same as for foster care. You can usually ge the book from your foster care co-ordinator. Basically safety covers on light sockets, no chemicals under sink or locked. Locked medicine box, power tools and paint and things out of reach in garage. In our case the inspection was the last meeting to be had,. The homestudy also involves interviews and paperwork. Make copies of all birth certificates, marriage lisence, divorce papers, tax records, pay check stubs, home, life and care insurance papers. Make doctors appointments for physicals of adult members. You do not need a room ready yet, just to show that you have room to put them. there is a site called adoption.com that has all kinds of info and people to talk to about this. We are near the end of out process.

Ok so im still writing this essay on how the health systems in france. However I do not understand how their Health insurance works. So could someone explain it simply please. I understand that most of their Health expenses is covered by the state- but that is all i get.

I’ve lived here in France for 9 years and am not an expert…. but….

Salaried employees pay tax as does their employer on their income, which is called ‘Social Charges’ this covers health and retirement among other things. However it doesn’t usually cover 100% of health/medical costs!!!!

Normally the standard contributions cover about 75% of the medical costs. People who are in the French health system have a ‘Carte Vitale’ (Health Card) which has a chip with their ID on. This allows them to get discount when they go to the Chemist for a prescription and allows the Doctor to access their records.

Many people take out a private health insurance or ‘Top Up health insurance’ to take care of the final 25% medical fees.

Normally if it’s a serious illness then the standard state covers 100%, things like Broken legs, cancer etc.

Good luck with the essay!

How do you roll back the water hose, used for Gardening ?

Good question. I’ve been having to deal with that pesky hose a lot lately, and there never seems to be a good way. I bought a nice big ceramic pot to coil my hose nicely into, but haven’t been using it lately. Sometimes I drape it over the gate. A lot of the time it just ends up in a big messy heap. Maybe the easiest thing to do is to just leave it in a long line along side the house. A sprinkler system or site specific hose connectors with quick connects would be ideal.

I want to pick out my furniture so I know hoe big to design the rooms in a house I would like to build. Where online can I go to see what the demensions of the furniture I like? Thanks!

I often use the internet to find Furniture and I’ve found that most furniture websites (and I’ve checked most of the major manufacturers) do provide all the necessary dimensions. You have to click on either "additional information" or "specifications". Good luck!
